• Question: when the ice caps melt how much of the land will become flooded

      Good question! So, the Earth’s largest ice caps lie on top of Greenland and Antarctica, and if all of this ice melted it would raise global sea level by around 70 meters. That means that anywhere that lies between today’s sea level and the height of Big Ben would be under water. A large number of the worlds major cities (like London and New York) lie below this height. But don’t worry – it is very unlikely that all of the ice will melt, and if it does it will take many thousands of years! 😉
