The best thing I know… that is a very difficult question! I think I like knowing more and more about science – not just what I work on, but I also like finding out about science that is in the news. Probably the most useful thing I know for my work are lots of different types of chemical reactions so that I can make whatever I want to.

I’m afraid I’m not a big football fan (I love cricket instead, especially Swanny!), but I live near Norwich and they have just been promoted to the Premier League – maybe I should start to support them?

      The Gunners!!! 😀
The best thing I know…..is that life is short and sweet if you spend it doing something you love! For me that’s science, but for you, that may be anything!

Being a Dutchie, I am a huge supporter of Edwin van den Sar. So lately I’ve been supporting Man United quite a bit. I did feel sorry for him losing his final champion’s league match, especially since he was not playing his best game.

The best thing I know… hmmm I guess that science isn’t as scary as I thought it would be. I definately wasn’t the brightest kid in my class when I was younger and it took me until the end of University to find out I actually loved doing research. It’s not as black and white that scientist will never come out of their labs and can’t do anything else but do research. Actually being outside amongst people really helps me think about what I want to study. 🙂

The best thing I know: tough question because it is so general, but one answer for me is that I know that the world is basically an understandable place not a crazy place where magic or miracles happen and we are doomed to fear and ignorance. Of course, that doesn’t mean that people aren’t crazy…

…which brings me to footy! I’m slightly embarrassed to admit that, if I’m a supporter of any team, it would be of Fulham (nearest to where I grew up and live now). Now supporting a team that is just good enough to be disappointing has to be crazy.
